Total when a massage CAN NOT be given, as doing so would spread their condition or symptoms to other parts of the body. They include:
.Contagious and infectious diseases .Fever .Under the influence of drugs or alcohol .Diarrhoea and vomiting .Cancer .Tuberculosis in the joint .Cardiovascular condition (Thrombosis/Embolism) .Neuritis .Recent operations or acute injuries
Local when they are localised to a specific area of the body. The area must be avoided. Some of them are:
.Varicose veins .Skin diseases .Undiagnosed lumps and bumps .Bruising .Inflammations including arthritis .Hernia .Cuts or abrasions .Sunburn .Undiagnosed pain
Medical conditions require written permission from the client's doctor before a massage is carried out. Some of them are:
.Oedema .Epilepsy .Bell's palsy,trapped or pinced nerves .Hypertension/Hypotension .Heart condition .Psoriasis or Eczema .Diabetes .Osteoporosis .Nervous or psychotic conditions .Gynaecological infections .Any condition already being treated by a medical practitioner
